I don’t think any country has gotten more positive exposure from Instagram than Iceland. Of course, there’s good reason for that. It’s one of the most visually stunning places I’ve ever been. Because the combination of harsh winters & volcanic activity (basis of the moniker “land of fire & ice”) has and continues to shape the stunning landscape, it’s unlike most places you’ll ever visit. The ease of getting there coupled with the ring road (900 miles, pictured here) which circumnavigates the island, makes it a place that should be on every adventure traveler’s bucket list. Having been lucky enough to visit a few times previously, it was extra special to be there with my wife Pam and our cousins recently. We’ve made some dear friends there & it’s a place now near to our hearts. After multiple trips there’s still so much to see and experience, I know we’ll continue visiting for the rest of our lives. If you go though, remember to tread lightly. The landscape is fragile and worth preserving for others to enjoy. 🇮🇸
